C is For... (Christmas Day 3)

CAROLS
Carol services are the best. It's when Christmas finally comes to church, and I love it!!! I mean, TP doesn't like them, but I don't understand how. I love church all year round, but when we get to sing Christmas carols in church it's totally awesome!
Some of my favourites are 'O Come O Come Emmanuel', 'O Holy Night' (yes, I do try and hit the high notes!), 'The First Noel', and 'Joy to The World'.

I've made a  Spotify carols playlist for you guys (and me!). I've started it off with a few of my favourites, but I'll probably add more as time goes on, so enjoy!

Did You Know?

  • Christmas carols were banned in England by Oliver Cromwell between 1647 and 1660 because he thought that Christmas should be a solemn occasion.  That's were the tradition of carol singing from door to door came from because it was banned in the churches.
  • Silent Night was written by the Austrian priest Joseph Mohr because the organ had broken on Christmas Eve and he couldn't think of Christmas without music, so he decided to write a song that could be sung by a choir with a guitar.

Thanks for reading, and I'll see you tomorrow!!!
