Book Review: Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

I saw the trailer for this film a few months back and decided I had to read the book. Unfortunately I had 0 moneys so I decided to start my 30 day free trial and 1 book with Audible. (Side note: I absolutely love Audible!! If I had enough money I would genuinely keep it up.)
I fell in love with this book. I'm very much of a book person and get very addicted if I get hooked on the story, which I did with this.

Plot: Lou Clark knows lots of things. She knows how many footsteps there are between the bus stop and home. She knows she likes working in The Buttered Bun tea shop and she knows she might not love her boyfriend Patrick.

What Lou doesn't know is she's about to lose her job or that knowing what's coming is what keeps her sane.

Will Traynor knows his motorcycle accident took away his desire to live. He knows everything feels very small and rather joyless now and he knows exactly how he's going to put a stop to that.

What Will doesn't know is that Lou is about to burst into his world in a riot of colour. And neither of them knows they're going to change the other for all time.

Favourite Quote: "I will never, ever regret the things I've done. Because most days, all you have are places in your memory that you can go to."  There are many more, but they could give too much away.

My thoughts: I loved this book. It made me physically laugh and cry, and that doesn't happen all that often with books. The characters are fantastic, with such a diversity in each person. There are actually parts in the book that are written from other characters point of view which really adds to the effect. The development of the characters is great too. Both Lou and Will change a lot but it's done so well that the transfer is beautiful.

Should you read it? YES! Definitely. It's such a beautiful, heartbreaking story and it reduced me to tears, and surely that should be a good reference to a book right? You'll love it and then when the movie comes out in June we can all cry our hearts out all over again! :)

Thanks for reading and feel free to recommend some books to me! I'm always open to suggestions.

April 2016 Update

I just can't believe we're already most of the way through April. That means in 2 months, we'll already be half way through the year!
Last month ended with Easter, which was a pretty busy day, but very awesome. We woke at five (but 4 to our bodies because of the clock changes) to do a sunrise walk like previous years. This year the sky was clear so we could see the whole thing. We climbed the hill and sang a few songs and my Dad did a little devotional. Then we went back to the church for a church breakfast and the Easter service. Then for lunch at home and a bit of Easter eggs. At 6 we had another service at church, but this one was a baptism service for Joel's girlfriend and 2 other lovely ladies. After that awesome service we had a buffet tea and then ANOTHER service, but this was more of a free worship session. It was so awesome. I might talk a little further about that service in the future but I'm not sure yet.

This month so far hasn't actually been that eventful. It was brought in by the Easter holidays, which was also the time for our holiday club. It's the first time we've done an Easter one but it was really great. It was called Space Academy and there was a slightly cringey song that I had to dance to each day but I got through it and the kids loved it.

This was a game where the kids had to through Wotsists at the shaving foam heads. The first picture is just after Joel's 'face' fell off!!

The weather has been a little temperamental at the moment. Right now my hands are freezing but we had a picnic last week and the sun has been shining intermittently.

We took our first trip to the brook in what could be 2 years. It was still quite chilly but nice to go back and see it, and the weather was lovely.

I also got Sims 4 so I've kind of been playing that a bit, and listening to Birdy's new album Beautiful Lies. Also, on Friday we went to a concert thing at the church. The performers were the Watoto children's choir. Watoto is a organisation based in Uganda that rescues orphans and gives them a home in a Watoto village where they get an education and care and get taught about the love of God. At the moment the choir is doing their Oh, What Love tour around the UK and we were lucky enough to have them at our church. Let me just say, they were totally amazing!! So full of energy and excitement for their Father's love. truly inspiring.

Thank you so much for reading! See you soon!! xx
